INDUSTRIAL CROP
Saigon Agriculture Corporation Limited is currently planting industrial crops such as rubber, acacia, and melaleuca
1. Rubber is a perennial industrial tree with latex tapping from 20 to 30 years. Adapted to a hot, humid (tropical) climate. It is suitable for red basalt soil and gray soil such as Central Highlands, Southeast and Central region. Latex products are irreplaceable materials in many industries (aviation, transportation, defense, civil ...) due to its elastic properties.
Rubber area is currently over 1,000 ha, most of which are being exploited.
The varieties are clones: PB235, RRIM600, GT1, PB260, RRIV3, RRIV4. Productivity is high, reaching 2 tons / ha / year.
The Corporation applies technical advances: high yield varieties, planning latex extraction cycle for 20 years, using rainwater resistant troughs, effective disease prevention and treatment.
2. A hybrid acacia tree is a small tree, 25-30m high, 30-40cm in diameter, taller and bigger than Acacia and Acacia leaf acacia. Stems straight, small branches, thick and dense crown.
Acacia hybrid has significantly faster growth than parent acacia. With selected hybrid acacia lines for intensive cultivation at 3 years old, an average of 8.6-9.8m in height, 9.8-11.4cm in diameter, 19.4-27.2 m3/ha/year for growth and 50-77m3/ha for wood production. The 7-8 year old acacia forest reaches 150-200m3 of wood/ha, maybe 1.5-2 times more than the acacia forest and acacia leaf.
Acacia hybrid has many seeds and its ability to regenerate naturally with seeds is very strong. 8-10 years old planted forest after clearing, burning vegetation and branches, seeds germinate and regenerate thousands of trees per hectare. However, not planting acacia hybrid forests with seedlings from seeds but with cuttings.
